Good bones are a prerequisite for a good space, and this home set in a wooded setting displays key features that were accented during a summer enhancement.
An elevated entrance bed with stacked stone knee wall contained base plants and low colorful groundcovers with backdrop native flowering shrubs complete the gated entrance. At the home annual color beds were installed in front of a boxwood hedge but the back pool and pool house area were the focus. A simple cedar log trellis was installed near the back of the pool planting area to help screen service area views beyond the pool and repeating material used on the pool house for continuity. Low growing evergreen backdrop plants provide contrast for the multi-season perennial show from spring through fall while proving a winter backbone to the landscape.
