With very little space to work with and a need to contain her dog this client asked for a landscape style relevant to the architecture of her home that would also serve as an entrance. The ensuing garden won the 2013 Georgia Urban Agriculture Council Small Space Award of Distinction. The back entrance proved to be where most visitors came to see her and facilitated easier passage to address her mobility challenges. The organic shaped cobble paver patio gives the space a courtyard look and provides ample space for both furniture and walking through. Landscape lighting allows for safe passage after dusk and a wider then standard gate complete with arbor allows her and her guests to pass through safely anytime. Small plant materials were utilized to leave the space open and low maintenance while giving it the cottage garden look.
